Nationally, 9% of older Americans live in food insecure households (Feeding America 2014). In York County, it is estimated that there are 3,392 food insecure elders (SMAA). Seniors are increasingly forced to make difficult choices between paying for heating oil, medication or food. Partners for a Hunger-Free York County provides of produce to low-income senior citizens through our Fresh Food Shares for Seniors program. This is a year round program that is made possible by local farms, volunteers, partner agency's, and our generous donors. We need your help to reach more seniors in need. You can volunteer to help or give financial support - every little bit counts!
